Last week, after Hillary’s victory in West Virgina I made the comment that the victory didn’t prove anything except that hillbillies don’t like Black people. Following a story on NPR this weekend I very sorry to report that I was correct. NPR played a tape of some of some of the comments people made after voting. The old exit poll research… the vile stuff that was played was unbelievable, but not unexpected I guess. The correspondent reported that it was unlike any response he had seen in his coverage of almost all of the primaries this season.
It’s hard to fathom the sort of thinking, I supposed I had kidded myself that this country had moved beyond that.. then again, there’s alot of people in this country who think the metric system is some sort of plot. Dennis Miller once made a comment that in West Virginia the latest technology is a flintlock.
Apparently Dennis was righter than maybe even he thought he was.
